deploy the Epic Games Launcher as well as the latest version of Unreal Engine 5.6 across our entire computer fleet

Hello everyone in the community!

I’m reaching out for your help because we need to deploy the Epic Games Launcher as well as the latest version of Unreal Engine 5.6 across our entire computer fleet.

Context

  • Educational institution (school/university)
  • Approximately 2,000 Windows 10/11 PCs managed with Microsoft Intune (modern management)
  • Students require both the Launcher and the full engine for their coursework projects.
  • Key constraint: everything must be installed automatically and silently before the start of term, while consuming as little bandwidth as possible during class hours.

Questions / Needs

  • Do you know of a reliable method to silently deploy the Launcher and Unreal Engine 5.6 to all our machines via Intune?
  • Any pointers—scripts, install options, or firsthand experience—would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Jox,

I’m wondering if you got anywhere with this?

I’m in a similar position where I have to deploy to around 200 machines. Where students require access to update and install the latest version. Which is a real pain meaning they require admin rights to specific folder structure to do so. We control this via group policy.

My deployment method is to capture a wim file with all applications applied then deploy to the devices via SCCM.
