There was a livestream recently that talked about moderation.
They talk more about IP moderation though.
I think the official response would be something along the lines of “You can report islands”
I look at those images and all I see is a bomber-plane with a crocodile head and a shark wearing sneakers. (Insert “am I so out of touch” meme here? )
It’s an interesting question though. At what point does an image cross the line into “Intolerance and Discrimination” (Section 1.3)
As a counter-point - if I showed you an image of Pepe the Frog - are there any connotations that exist in your mind? At what point is a meme so pervasive that it is reasonable to assume that the connotations should exist in most people?
It would’ve been much better for Epic and for the Community if there was an AI system that can monitor plagerized thumbnails. As soon as the AI finds something it will get reported to Epic and Epic can make a DMCA copyright strike easily. People mainly talk about IP moderation because most of the thumbnails that people click on are clickbait and have Godzilla in there thumbnail…
