Define Ground Plane is useful for scans with no GPS nor GCPs, or when GPS is not accurate enough to have the correct scale/vertical/absolute positionning accuracy.
However, the defined ground plane does not get applied when one exports, from that component, either a 3d Model or a registration.
There should at least be a toggle to enable or disable/bake or not the defined ground plane as an applied matrix transform to the scene objects (3d, cameras etc).

I checked and it seems like the ground plane is applied to the exported model. Selected one is without Set Ground Plane, the other one is with rotated ground plane:
But maybe you mean something else.
