Hi, I am new to Unreal Engine 5 and did a little prototype with the first person default project.
I made a new level and sometime in playmode the player character seems to run/walk very fast, too fast. For example, when climbing stairs made with the modelling tool. On some surface, too.
I didn’t do anything on the character, just used the one by default.
Can you be a little more specific? What kind of surface are we talking about? What’s special about it? Is it always too fast or only on this surface? That kind of thing
I had a similar issue - it was because HW raytracing was turned on, but I hadn’t turned on the HW shadows and skylight in Project Settings. I was getting around 100FPS while editing, but 20FPS while playing (and getting slow times with fast bits inbetween) - with those options turned on I can get a steady 80FPS while playing.
I am doing a little prototype for a project in Unreal Engine 5.
So I open the First Person Shooter default project. Created a new level.
And in this level for instance I build a long and high Stairway with the Stairs in the modelling tool.
But when I am climbing in playmode the stairs to test out my prototype, the character runs fast really fast faster than usual. But I didn’t touch the blueprint or anything on the default character.
And just to be sure I am not talking about the frame rate but the First Person camera character the default one. Walking normally most of the time but some time it looks like he is almost floating really fats no reason. No clipping? I don’t know.
