As far as building lighting and packaging projects go it seems that my processor is the limiting factor. Would a better processor make a noticeable defense in decreasing the time it takes to build lighting and package a project?
Open up your task manager and see what percentage of the CPU is being used then you build. If it’s spending most of its time around 100% and its using all 4 cores in your i5, then it may be worth upgrading your processor to an i7. The i7 has two threads per core which is a big help for multi-threaded building. I noticed it when building the source code, but I don’t know if lighting and package builds are multithreaded.
