Decibel - Decibel: DAW for Unreal Engine

Create music and game audio directly inside Unreal Engine.

Decibel is a digital audio workstation plugin that brings composition, sound design, mixing and interactive playback into your Unreal project. Build sessions with audio and MIDI tracks, clips, instruments, effects, automation and modulation. Save them as project assets, then place them in a level or control them from Blueprint.

The session editor and game playback use the same Decibel audio engine, connecting sound authoring with the way your game plays it.

Features

- In-engine DAW: arrange audio and MIDI on a multitrack timeline, organize groups, draw automation and record audio or MIDI.

- Audio and MIDI editing: shape pitch, gain, timing and fades; edit notes in the piano roll; make non-destructive spectral edits and repairs.

- Instruments and effects: a Synth, Sampler and Drum Machine, MIDI processors, and built-in dynamics, EQ, filtering, delay, reverb, distortion and modulation effects.

- Procedural sound Designers: Engine, Weapon, Impact and Piano instruments use physical models and editable templates to create and shape their sounds.

- Adaptive audio: build loop regions, transitions and layer crossfades, then drive them with named events, variables and gameplay logic.

- Project mixing: route sessions through buses, shared effects and sends; morph mixer snapshots for different game states.

- Spatial audio and acoustics: distance attenuation, binaural rendering, Doppler and mesh/spline distance-field sources, with CPU Real Time acoustics and optional GPU SONE simulation.

- Ambiance and Foley: combine continuous beds with randomized 3D spawns, and trigger character sounds from bone motion, contact strength and physical materials.

- Gameplay integration and diagnostics: session actors and components, Blueprint controls, MetaSound nodes, analyzers, live profiling, voice budgets and GAME mode.

- Optional VST3 hosting: use separately acquired VST3 instruments and effects on Windows session tracks. Mixer and Ambiance documents do not host VST3 plug-ins.
