Now that the bridge is finally working for 5.2.1 i have been able to import characters and static meshes into UE but i have some problems maybe someone here could help me with.
When exporting characters with full outfits certain objects that are parented to the outfit are not positioning properly on the skeleton, i think it’s because in daz3d these extras use pin’s to parent to body part areas but after exporting from Daz3d in UE this mesh parts seperate from the character & are thrown everywhere once exported into UE.
Here is an example picture of one character that has botton’s from a shirt flying all over the character in non associated locations.
As seen here you can see parts of the mesh hasn’t placed on the body correctly.
Can I fix this in UE or do I have to reconfigure the way the items are parented to the gen 8 skeleton in daz3d before export.
I have already tried re parenting items directly but they still export considerable distance away from the body after export. In Daz3D editor everything shows as perfectly fine before export so it must be how the DTU file is compiling & converting to UE.
My other issue is some textures are not best quality when they should be brighter or more detailed, usually I have to increase the subd levels in UE via the material itself which can take a while & doesn’t always yield the best results in UE, so is there a better way to do this?
Please post any helpful video link tutorials.
Thank You.
