Daz Genesis 9 control rig issue

Hello!

I’ll explain my issue here; my goal is to use UE5 purely as a rendering tool for a personal project of mine, using Genesis 9 Daz3D characters specifically. I was able to successfully import a basic test character into UE5 easy-peasy, and i’m now trying to setup the control rig for it using a modular rig.

However, i’ve had constant issues with the arms just breaking and twisting like this, and despite my best efforts, i was unable to find a solution for it. I’ve tried reassigning the bones, reimporting the model and skeletal mesh with a few different options from the plugin, etc… All of which failed to fix this.

If anyone could help me or guide me into fixing this, i would be extremely grateful!

Okay, i found the solution; the issue seems to have been the “Zero Root Rotation on import” option. Disabling this while activating the Fix Bone Rotations on import and making sure the “fix twist bones” was enabled on the Daz side worked to fix the arms, as well as the other crooked bits.

“Fix Bone Rotations on Import” enabled in UE5 plugin settings. “Zero Root Rotation on Import” disabled in UE5 plugin settings. “Fix Twist Bones” enabled on the Daz export side.
