date and time....how to change?

date and time…is it possible to change from MM/DD/YYYY to DD/MM/YYYY in epic launcher (release dates etc.), so frustrating, only yankees use that weird order. my brain hurts. please help.

For archival purposes YYYY/MM/DD is superior

@FINLADN Thank you for your feedback. While I cannot guarantee a response, I can confirm that this has been forwarded to the appropriate team.

Still an issue in 2026, it’s especially confusing with the day <= 12, as it’s impossible to say whether it’s a month or not.

Is it 5th October or 10th May?

Please add a user setting for date format. Do not bind it to user country or language in case something is living somewhere and uses a certain language for the interface but prefers another date formatting (ex: I have my system in English but uses Japanese date YYYY-MM-DD for alphabetical sorting), it should be a separate option (of course nothing prevents you from picking a default based on user country to satisfy most people, as long as they can customize it).

Note: I see this thread is under Fortnite Developer but this applies to the whole Epic Store.

Epic for some reason does Localization (L10N) and Internationalization (i18n) as if they were the same thing and always bounded together.
Sadly this is not true and breaks many UIs, User Options, Accessibility and other usages :frowning:

I wish we had proper granular controls about internationalization formats (dates, units, abbreviations), and for languages (interface, dialogues, cutscenes, etc)
Sadly this is something I ask since 201X and I think they will not change this. I guess that the current way they do it is too mangled together that is not easy to modify and add this granularity of controls to the existing systems, at least not without rewritting the majority of how it works.
And since it it only affects/annoyes a small group of people, it defenitely is not taken with higher priority
