In UE 5.0.3 when I reimport my C4D scene trying to retrieve the changes the scene then loses all the materials that have been changed in unreal reverting back to the default C4D Materials i need help with this since I’m working on a big project and i reinstalled and did everything I could i started another project its the same

There is a slight chance the reimport may have overridden your materials.

I’ve read the docs thoroughly this behavior only exists in 5.0.3 when I design my scene in C4D and I used to just do a reimport to update in UE whether a change in UVs or adding extra geo or anything and Datasmith was smart enough to keep the materials and geo transformations that I’ve already assigned in the engine now a reimport just override everything and revert the Datasmith actor to default
note that keeping the sync scene actor unchecked doesn’t reflect the changes in the scene altogether and when i click update scene actors it does the same and revert everything to default it’s really frustrating as I’m working on a big project now and i so depend on it in my workflow i tried in 4.27.2 and its working flawlessly
Also having this issue with 5.0.3 - Has anyone been able to find a workaround for this? Really time consuming process to re-apply materials…Will have to revert back to 4.27 till it’s fixed I guess.
