Datasmith file does not import into center of VR image field. Help. Cant move the background and cant slide the datesmith file to align.

Hello ,

Thank you for posting your question in the community and the default view in Twinmotion does not automatically update based on the camera view coming from Datasmith. You can however select in the scene graph an element then use the F key to zoom to selection.

I am not sure what you mean by you cannot move the background or slide? Would you be able to share an image and more details to what is not working? Is this in VR mode or just in the viewport of Twinmotion?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Kind regards,

Vincent B.

Hello Vincent B,

I am still trying to use Twinmotion at it’s full potential in our office. For this we need to be able to use the path tracer which is not supported on our Macs. We are all on teamwork and are thinking of adding another workstation. Should we think of adding a PC (we are on archicad 26) .. will it interact ok with the Macs? We would only consider this to buy the license of Twinmotion and install it on the PC.. Thoughts? I am asking you this because I know of your extensive knowledge of Archicad also…. Please advise

Thanks

Christine

Hello ,

Thank you for the follow-up and your questions with Path Tracer and Archicad. In order to use that functionality having a PC will be the best and easier to update video card/hardware as needed. Having a dedicated PC station for Path Tracer would be a good idea if you do a lot of renderings/animations as they could take awhile to export.

Working with a mixed environment of PC and Mac in teamwork works well from past experience. However you need to consider Fonts and Path when working in a mixed environment.

Please refer to this article for further information: https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Installation-update/Cross-platform-issues-between-PC-and-MAC-Troubleshooting-Guide/ta-p/303397

Hope this helps.
