Hello. I’ve recently installed Datasmith Exporter plugin (latest version) for Rhino 8. Upon opening of Rhino, I receive an error message of plugin not being loaded (see the image).
I have tried installing archived versions of plugins, nothing works. I had 1 year old Datasmith plugin which was working normally; then decided to update Twinmotion to latest 2025.2 version, as well as the Datasmith.
I am using Rhino 8 on Windows 11 Home.
Install logs show that installation went successfully.
I would be grateful if anyone could assist me with this.
I have recently had this problem and have managed to resolve it.
I firstly removed all trace of any previous installations by uninstalling through control panel, searching for and deleting any trace of keys through Registry editor and repairing Rhino with windows repair.
Then i did a clean install from the most recent download. Once Rhino was opened the same error message appeared but the plugin is visable in Rhino PluginManager. I selected to install the plugin through PluginManager and located the .rhp file in the ProgramData\Mcneel\Rhino\8.0.\plugin folder.
Again in the pluginManger find the plugin and make sure it is ticked as active and enabled.
when restarting Rhino I was then asked if the firewall should allow permissions, select yes.
