Datasmith can't find my SketchUp Pro

I have 2 PC’s (windows 10 64bit) I have SketchUp Pro installed on both and SketchUp in installed in the same place. C:\Program Files (x86)\Trimble. Inc\SketchUp Pro 2018\Sketchup Pro 2018 I try to install and I get “No supported version of SketchUp Pro has been found” on both computers. Help, please.

HI there ,

The issue can be caused by many things.

  1. To try to resolve this , Getting the log would be very helpful.
    If you are unable to get the log from the installer:

    log.jpg
    log.jpg1059×622 135 KB

    You may want to try running the DirectX Diagnostic Tool
    ( found in your start button)
    Select the “save all information”
    This will generate a text file .
    Please send us the text file
    Hopefully this will give us the missing information.

  2. Make sure that Sketchup is closed when installing

  3. Could be something with the permission.

    1. Run the installer as administrator.
      → Right click on the msi and select run as administrator.

  4. Using command line in administrator mode.
    —> Launch the installer with active logging using this command :
    msiexec /i UnrealDatasmithMaxExporter.msi /l*vx \ueinstall.log

In my case, sketchup is in C:\Program Files\SketchUp\SketchUp 2021

IF you use Sketchup 2023, you need to install unreal datasmith exporter 5.2

else try to follow steps from @MC_Jut
