Hi everyone! Trying to work with unreal studio & 3ds max, it’s all fine, but i can’t import camera animation keys from 3ds Max. It’s impossible at the moment or i’m doing something wrong? I didn’t find anything about importing ANIMATED cameras using datasmith in Unreal documentation and over internet.
Datasmith is not supporting animations in the moment. We are adding support for it in 4.22 but you will have a wait for a few weeks.
Hi Pierre, here’s a question in the opposite direction: Can / will Unreal have the ability to generate a .rpf file with camera movement data that can then be brought into After Effects? Or, in a similar way, any feature that would be able to copy object position data and paste that into an After Effects layer for compositing? Tnx
Thank you Pierre! I’ve seen in this tutorial Epic Developer Community process of importing camera animation via cine camera dummy inside Sequencer. Am i right, with datasmith process it’s not working properly (unit’s scale, etc)?
re: AE
We are not pursuing AE workflows at this time. Hopefully, once we bring over the data, there will be tricks for exporting it in whatever format you desire.
re: camera animation
Datasmith doesn’t bring over any camera animation data (yet). Use the other method if you have this problem.
