Datasmith C4D: Instances inside instances

Hi! I ran across a problem which apparently is an issue for some time: If I have an instance inside an instance in my C4D scene, the datasmith importer ignores these and only shows the instanced mesh actors. I can’t figure out why and haven’t found any solutions anywhere. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

I marked the Instances with their corresponding Objects

In the UE4 Outliner, the meshes are instanced as expected, but the instanced instances “4Kant” disappear

Thanks a lot for your answer.
I’m using R25 and UE 4.27

It seems that I’ve figured out the problem - it was on the export side. Apparently, if I save a C4D scene with “save project for cineware”, this will cause the nesting instances problem. However, if the file is saved normally (of course with the “save polygon cache” from cineware activated), all seems to be fine…
