DataSmith 5.3 "Failed to load some animation sequences"

I’m trying to export an animation from 3ds max 2024 to Unreal, with datasmith 5.3, with the correct export settings. When importing into Unreal 5.3 it generates the error “Failed to load some animation sequences”. Everything else in the project imports without any problems (meshes and corona materials)

Believing that there was an error during the installation of Datasmith, I reinstalled the plugin, tried several times and it continues to generate the same error.

Does anyone face the same problem? Or do you already have a solution?

Revert to previous version, animation export has been broken since 5.1 I think, the version before they integrated the datasmith export into the max ribbon and had it as an “export as” option on export.

I will try to get someone to repro. Is it possible to share the model with us? in private message?

Hi, I can’t revert to previous versions, they don’t support 3dsmax 2024. :frowning:

Hi, do you mean the 3dsmax file that I’m trying to import the animation from? How do I send? Thanks!

Do you have your animation export settings set up correctly?

Yes, when I export I use this option.

Hello, try this solution found by our friend @UE_FlavienP . I followed the suggested procedure and the animations were imported correctly again. Thank you for your help @UE_FlavienP

3ds max did not start, but this solution helped. I put " ." instead of " , " !!!

That’s right, change the “.” for the “,”.
