Datasmith 5.1 not importing animation

I was trying to export an animation from 3ds max 2022 to Unreal, with datasmith 5.1, with the correct export settings and everything, but when imported into Unreal, the error “Failed to load some animation sequences” appears.

I thought it was a bug and reinstalled the plugins, tried several times and nothing happens, same error. Even a simple animation of moving a cube shows this error.

I reinstalled the previous version, Datasmith 5.0 and it worked normally, then I tried 5.1 again and nothing worked, the same error appears. I already delete all files and reinstalled Unreal, but the same error happens with 5.1, any idea what it could be?

Same problem here. When exported in FBX animate works fine but not recognize corona physical material. When exported with datasmith material works fine but animation not work.

Same problem here. I can’t import camera animation from max 2020 to unreal 5.0.3… Any solution ?
Thanks.

Same problem here. Got a message log that says ‘Failed to load some animation sequences’
Using the latest version of the datasmith exporter in combination with the latest unreal version 5.1 and 3dsmax 2023

Got the same problem. when I downgraded the datasmith export plugin, it fixed the problem. But this way there is no direct link…

has anyone tested if its fixed with the datasmith for UE 5.2 exporter?

Just tried with datasmith for 5.1.1. and animations still don´t work.

Still is doesn’t not working guys like seriously? its great if there is live link but without animation import I cant use new version of datasmith at all…please fix it !

@Dejvvo are you using UE 5.2.0? Which version of 3dsMax and datasmith exporter?
@Acolori_Medien @ugrabugra1 Which version of 3dsMax and datasmith exporter?

Max 2023. We reverted to datasmith 5.0, as 5.1 and 5.2 weren´t exporting animation.

@UE_FlavienP Same like @Acolori_Medien I had to use datasmith 5.0 to get animation to UE…but there is not support for corona physical material for example so its ruining whole pipeline…

Could you check what is your decimal separator in your regional settings?
If it is a comma, can you try to switch it to a dot and re export your animations?
We have a ticket for that one but it is not fixed yet.
