Datasmith 5.1 Export not available

I’ve installed Datasmith 5.1 plugin for 3ds Max 2022 and 2023 but the .udatasmith file type is not available in either version in the export dialog. Any thoughts on what is causing this?

I think you should go through export button in the datasmith ribbon in 3ds Max

Hi Mouton001 ! In 5.1 we unified the workflow in 3dsMax to match our other plugins. You should now have a ribbon/toolbar called “Datasmith”, with your export options instead of exporting through Max’s “Export” menu. [image] Cheers, Antoine

Thanks, I had no idea it had changed location and didn’t notice Datasmith on the ribbon.

Wow… I was also lookng for the udatasmith extension, and i thought the installer failed or something… I normally turn off the ribbon to make my interface cleaner so, that took me some time to find

DataSmith does not appear in the ribbon in non-English versions.

It turns out that a tab is not showing up in my 3ds max

The issue has been fixed for 5.1.1.
I am checking if we can get an update of the exporter msi before UE 5.1.1 release.
