EDIT : The beta has reached capacity and the registrations are now closed.
Keep an eye out for when UE5.0 releases !
Hi everyone !
We are preparing for a Closed Beta on our reworked Datasmith 3dsMax plugin. If you are interested to participate and give feedback, please head over to this form and register !
The number of participants is limited, so be swift !
Have there been any updates on how the Beta testing is going? Any news on what’s happening with compatibility with the Corona Render 7 for 3dsmax and the CoronaPhysicalMaterial?
Beta testing has not started yet as we are still working on feature parity and stability with the “old” plugin.
Once this is done, we will be working on implementing new features like the new CoronaPhysicalMaterials added with Corona 7 or Direct Link.
We’re rebuilding the plugin from the ground up to have feature parity with the other plugins (Direct Link, AutoSync… and more dedicated features just for 3dsMax, including better VRay/Corona material and light support), and had to delay the plugin for a new target of Unreal Engine 5.1.
If you are feeling adventurous, this is something you could try.
It would require both the Datasmith SDK (available from the git repo) and the 3dsMax SDK.
You might encounter build issues, as this is not really intended to be built outside of our dev environment. If you do, please report them and we’ll look at fixing em
Hope this helps ! Keep us updated !
Cheers,
Antoine
Hi ! There’s no Beta group for Revit, but you can send the suggestions to UDN and the dev community and Vincent or Flavien (@UE_FlavienP) will pick those up and direct em to the right people.
hello Antoine_Guillo I have some problems when calling Direct Link when Unreal Engine is running. Its performance is not ideal and materials will be lost. Unfortunately, I am not a programmer and I will not solve it through the datasmith SDK.
