Data Layer Actor Filters + Level Instance

Update: This might only be for in game streaming assets for WP. I might be looking for this instead:

I see actor filters have been added to Data Layers. I just can’t see to figure them out.

My use case:

Have a Level Instance with filters. The user places the LI in the level, goes to the filter on the Level instance and selects the variation they want. These variations are dictated by data layers.

I see the notes in the 5.3 roadmap but it’s still unclear to me. From the screenshot it looks like a custom filter group appears when you use data layers (with actor filter) in a Level Instance. But this doesn’t work for me.

Is there a way to use Data Layers in Level Instance to expose variations?

Have you found a way to display those filters ? I also can’t find that option on my level instances in either 5.3 or 5.4 …

@traden1976 Turns out, you have to enable the option in the editor preferences:

You also need to tick ‘Support Actor Filters’ on individual Data Layer Assets, otherwise it won’t show up in the Filter list:
