Hey everyone, my gamer tag is Unholypimpin and i’m just a guy who always had this silly dream of making his own FPS game like doom and hexen. Thanks to UE4 I think that dream can finally become a reality. Iv learned alot over the past months thanks to this wonderful community and hopefully in time I can become an accepted member of this community.
Now to talk about this FPS game I am making.
I’m still working on the games name but Atm I shall call it Dark Torment. This game is like the love child of doom, hexen and quake.
The story of the game is quite simple, you are a tormented creature in hell that is trying to escape and will gladly kill as many demons as you can along the way.
Gameplay wise you can expect a fast paced slaughter everything that moves kind of game. There will be an inventory system that will allow you to collect powerups or health and armor that you can use on the go as well as artifacts of power that can enhance your character. I’m making it so this game will have multiple paths and endings so that the player can’t experience the whole game in one playthrough.
So far I got my weapon system in place as well as enemy behavior, still to come is the inventory system and hud. All of the current models iv made don’t have their own textures so their using the default ue4 ones.
Weapons - so far
Demon Blade - A demonic sword that steals the life of enemies as well as drain a portion of their soul at melee range, once the sword has reached 100% soul capacity you can use its devastating alternate attack to throw out a spiritual projectile that explodes on contact which can kill most weaker enemies in one hit.
Enemies - so far
Shadow - A dark Figure that will charge at you or melee you if it gets close to you. Its charge attack will slow you down greatly for a few seconds.
Tormented Soul - A floating humanoid like spirit that will toss projectiles at you or drain your life at melee range. Eventually ill make it so these guys can suck the souls out of dead enemies to increase their current and max hp.
Here are some screenshots - everything is just placeholders atm until I remake the models to my liking.
Thanks for reading, more updates to come!
