Dark Fantasy - Forsaken Village

I have created this game package during months. I tried to model some unique objects for a dark fantasy village. A combination of premade objects and modular ones in this package help the user to design a custom fantasy village as a game level. Details about this package is in the following link to the fab market: https://www.fab.com/listings/da17f6bc-d80e-439a-b644-57d252b8d039

Also you can see the package showcase in the following link : https://youtu.be/bKk7rrJEijI?si=09THlzT6970OZvDq

Hope you like it and also any question and comments are welcomed

Hi there @polygonexperts1,

Hope you’re well and having a wonderful week so far

Just wanted to hop in and say this looks really cool. “Dark Fantasy” seems to be the perfect way to describe this project. The green hazy mixed with the decaying buildings create such a unique aesthetic. Really unique to look at

While creating this did you make up any “lore”? Or was it just a pure creativity spree?

Hi. very sorry for late reply. Actually I have forgotten I have created this post here and there was nothing to inform me I have messages. Thank you and I am very happy you liked it. Actually yes, before I create most of my assets I create a lore for them and you understood it very well. I like writing and creating for games

Hello there @polygonexperts1 ! Welcome to posting with us here on the forums!

The more I examine this scene, the more amazed I am by the detail. There is an almost Outlast 2 meets Resident Evil Village vibe that I really enjoy! If I may ask, how did you create the bluish green fog that sort of lies over the whole village?

Hi @The_M0ss_Man. Thank you! You are right Resident Evil and Even Souls games are the ones which affect my inspiration. I play games in my free times and when I want to create a package first start to write a role which those games absolutely can affect that. For example first I define what happened for the village, where are people, which tragedy happened there and etc. Some of my packages telling a unique story but in different locations and angle of view.

For the fog I am using Exponential Height Fog also you can use “Local Volume Fog” but in the scene I just have Exponential Height Fog

Hello again @polygonexperts1 !

That’s actually a really good worldbuilding process. It helps you feel out how to further feel out the rest of the project. I may use that tactic moving forward in my own worldbuilding!

Also, thank you for explaining how your fog works! Is that what causes it to have the slightly greenish hue, or is that just the coloration of the fog?

Exactly. In my opinion as far as you don’t know your world and it’s story, you can’t gather objects that match your world best.

If we don’t count the effect of sun set color of sky, for the fog, it is the coloration of the fog and also a little midtones offset towards green in the post process volume.
