Greetings,
we are currently developing a cyberspace and want to make it multiplayer. But we don’t want to distribute the software to players but rather have it run as a browser game.
The scope of it isn’t that big: a laboratory complex in a small game world, the player count should / could be high, say ~200.
A dedicated server could be run on our hosting service but to my (limited) knowledge and previous statement, the server cannot be headless.
I know browsers aren’t that powerful, but somehow this can work right?
What are the limitations, what performance on a good pc should I be aiming for to adjust to a browser? (at the moment, we are struggling to keep 30fps on pc)
Feel free to stop me in my path if all this sounds stupid.
Tips and suggestions, I would greatly appreciate, thank you.
