customizing Metahumans Crowd Character

Hello,

So far we have been using the Crowd Character in our game to randomize players and/or NPC’s. Recently I have set up our own BP from scratch, both to get a better understanding of how the Crowd Character blueprint is set up, and also to be able to apply custom changes to have the characters look less like business people and have a more diverse color/outfit pallet. I managed to recreate all the BP info but there are some small issues still. - The hair remains on the ground.

  • All characters have a lightly trimmed beard, regardless of gender.
  • When getting closer to the character, there is some hair sticking around the eyes.

Since the BP is so immense I am hoping someone who might know it better can help me in the right direction to look for solving these issues. I will keep going over the steps again or at least focus on specific groom bindings set up etc but so far I can’t find anything different from the original.

Another option for us could be to just duplicate the original and swap out some of the clothes meshes and tweak the color settings, although I am not sure how to approach that last point exactly so again there if anyone has experience with this BP I’d like to chat and dig into it some more :D!

Same, would love to know if the crowd metahumans can be swapped out or customized fully.

So far, I think the best method is to duplicate the existing BP and then swap in/out types of clothes and faces you’d want to use. Haven’t figured out how the color picking for the clothes works exactly. It seems it is set up with a basic color pattern for each clothing item. Potentially you could also change that to colors you like but it takes some effort to set it up on each item.

Oh interesting when I was looking at them, their variations seem set up with a slider option to toggle between faces and styles.
