Hello Jan,
Your job seems to be very interesting.
Do you know when exactly this will be for sale on the marketplace?
Text-to-mesh is amazing, I’ve had that kind of project on the backburner for literally years and honestly still don’t know where to start. This will save me all that research for now Bought.
so any news?
Sorry to say that this project got put on the backburner for a while because paid contracts took priority, but I’m looking to pick it back up as soon as I have more time!
Here’s an update for you!
I’ve picked this back up after finishing with my most recent bout of freelancing, and have been taking a look at what features would be useful to have to make this a truly drag & drop menu system. And so I’ve started working on a few things that I feel are going to help that
First of all, you can now seamlessly blend between the camera moving to the selected menu item, or the menu moving to put the selected item under the camera. Here’s a short clip showing what nice dynamic motion you can get if you set the slider to somewhere in between:
Secondly, and this is probably going to be a huge headache-saver, menu items can now be automatically arranged! Currently I’ve got that working for simple horizontal or vertical lists, horizontal circles, and (my favorite) cylinders:
As you can see in the second image, it’s even possible to tell the system whether it should use a full cylinder or just a cylinder section. The same works for horizontal circles as well, of course!
I’ll try to get this system finished this month, as my schedule seems to be relatively clear for the moment. I’d love to hear some feedback - let me know if you like what you see!
Looking Good!
Really cool looking stuff.
The text to mesh looks great and those transitions are smooth.
I can’t want to see what it’s like when you are finished
Quick update: I’ve picked up work on this again last weekend, and since then I’ve added gaze detection (for menu activation/deactivation in VR), 3D widgets for manual positioning of menu items, and generally streamlined and optimized the blueprint.
Right now I’m working on swipe navigation for touch input. Oh yeah, did I mention? It works on mobile without issues, as well as in VR.
I’m hoping to have a first release candidate by the end of next weekend, but I’ll keep you updated!
Any updates on this?
