I had saved quite a number of custom Library items to a network location in my office. This was set up in TM 2022.1. Just started working in 2022.2 and I've set the preferences to use the same network Library location path as before. When I select a custom item to place in my scene, it will show in the viewport correctly (on mouse hover), with texture maps. As soon as I click to place it in the scene, the geometry turns white with no texture showing. If I eye drop the material, the texture will show up correctly as a thumbnail, but not on the scene object. Mouse hover reveals the location as /Engine/TransientEngine/Transient L:\Networklocation...
Hello Bruce,
Thank you for posting in the community and sorry to hear about the troubles with this texture issue. We did address some issue in the latest 2022.2.1 hotfix related to missing texture paths. Have you updated to the latest version and if you are still experiencing this issue please submit a bug so we can further investigate: https://twinmotionhelp.epicgames.com/s/case-community-page

Hi Vincent - thank you for your reply. I have upgraded to the latest version. To fix this issue I've been selecting the library items placed in the scene (in the previous TM version with correct textures) and re-saved them into my custom library. Once this was done, the new custom items import with correct textures. I was just trying to find out if there was a quick fix, however resaving the custom library didn't take too long once I got into it. The original library items were saved in one of the Preview versions, so it's likely your team have fixed the issue since then. Thanks for your follow up.
Hi Bruce,
Thank you for the follow-up and the details on the steps you took to resolve this problem. Glad to hear it was a quick fix and didn't take too long.
Hope you have a great rest of your day and week.
Kind regards,
Vincent B.
This doesn't work for me. I have my own library of (static) characters and decals, each time I save the TM file and re-open it in a new session, all the materials are mixed up, even with some height maps covering objects and characters. I have to replace all the objects of the project (I have more than 200) one by one with the original ones, which is time consuming and annoying, almost un-doable at some point.
Why are the pathes to textures so strange ? Where are they stored ?
And why their names are changed to numbers ? Would it be more simple to maintain the absolute pathes and names from the beginning (when the project file is first imported) ?
TM version used: 2022.2.2
