I’m experiencing a bug in UEFN with custom items granted to players through Verse.
I’m attaching a screenshot that clearly shows the issue. In the screenshot, you can see that the regular Fortnite weapon displays its name correctly in the inventory, while my custom item, which is in the first inventory slot, does not display its name.
The custom item’s name is configured correctly, but when the item is granted to the player through Verse, its name does not appear in the inventory or hotbar.
I also tried setting the item’s Name, Description, and Short Description through Verse after granting it, but this did not fix the problem.
The only way to make the name appear is to drop the custom item and pick it up again. After doing this, the name is displayed correctly in the inventory.
As shown in the attached screenshot, regular Fortnite weapons display their names normally, so the issue seems to affect custom items specifically.
I’ve also seen other creators reporting similar issues on Reddit and the Epic Developer Community forums.
Could you please investigate this bug and let us know if a fix is planned? Custom item names should appear correctly as soon as the items are granted through Verse, without requiring players to drop and pick them up again.
