Custom head mesh with Metahuman Creator

Does anyone know how to to do this? I’d love to be able to assign the facial rig to a custom sculpt.

We’re working on a project and trying to do this, so any info on it would be awesome.

Hey, what if you just take the human face and sculpt it up into the monkey/gorilla?

Since you have the end product sculpted you may be able to automate the process somewhat.
Either way, compared to manually making the right groups it would save you a hell of a lot of time.

Alternatively, you can try to transfer the groups by proximity.

First, distort the human face to loosely resamble the target mesh.
Second, port over the morphs by proximity (blender can, surely Maya and others can too).
Third, debug and clean up which is still some 2 days worth of work.

Compared to the month it would take you to do it manually at the same quality it’s kind of a no-brainer.

Obviously if you had the money and time you could put sensors on a gorilla and get readings (or maybe find said stuff. Usually when they make it as a study to then make movies they also make the data free to use and publicly avaliable. Since planet of the apes has been CG for at least 3 or 4 movies, my guess would be you can probably purchase or find something ready to go with all the correct morphs).
