Custom Clothing and Roadblocks




Hi everyone. I am trying to get into creating custom clothing for use with Metahumans.
I’ve modeled, rigged, and weighted the clothing using the metahuman skeleton, I select both the skeleton and mesh on export, but when I try to import the suit into Unreal, and attempt to assign the metahuman skeleton to it, the one I need doesn’t seem to be there.

When I choose what I think is the closest match I get an error:
Failed to find any bone hierarchy.

Can you show a screenshot of the bone hierarchy of your suit? Try to import it with its own skeleton and then make a screenshot of the skeleton. Usually if there is an error, there is something wrong with your rig. The metahuman_base_skel is the correct one to use btw.
