After working with 686 photos. My model has a very pronounced curve it should be flat for the most part. What do I need to do to correct this error.

Hi David
is it from a small image sensor ?
delete the component and use these settings for alignment

Wishgranter,
I’ve used these settings and it’s helped a bit on aligning photos and have seen you post these on multiple threads for various fixes - I’m just curious, why aren’t these the default settings?
Hi Castlenock
The defaults are good in most cases
and they can show problems on alignment quite easily. My settings are based on a LOT of experimentation for over 4 years of RC use. These are the next step of fine-tuning alignment… I have a plan to make deep, but easy to understand tutorial on ALIGNMENT.
Thanks mate! Looking forward to getting to know the alignment settings better!
Wishgranter… nice to see you here from the PScan forums man…
I am also getting into RC, as it’s proven, amongst my peers, to produce amazing results. But… The sony A7RII isn’t… a profile yet? Really? I am having issues with alignment where things are umm… facing downward… sad. ;p
This is actually one of the main reasons I never went with Autodesk’s softwares… they never produced a nice flat scan out of the boxlike PS. So… what’s the trick? You and I know very well that “based on a 35mm sensor” is a serious hack. We need lens grids, custom profiles per lens/cam combo, etc. So… can you please explain to me how to set that up for RC? Whether the software knows what this camera/lens combo should do out of the factory, they are allll different, and making custom grids and alignments in PS made very very different results. I am just curious how to do that in RC, and also… why aren’t these cameras already in the database?
I’d be delighted to NOT have to use custom grids, but so far… I am less than impressed. Curved worlds are not a way to sell me. ![]()
Hi Justin
what sort of alignment issues? Can you send me the dataset with the description of problems so that I can take a look at it?
