Curtains...

Ok, as I’ve understood curtain material is a bit of a struggle in Lumen. I’ve seen almost 30 tutorials and they fall in one of 3 categories:
1)nice looking- no transparent shadows
2)not nice looking but with transparent shadows…
3)using two identical curtains, one with transluscency material and one with shadow casting material.
Even in quixel there is no curtain material whatsoever.
I have honestly given up. (I went with the two models approach because it’s the most realistic but it feels so wrong) I am just posting this in case anybody knows a solution…

Hey there @aris777! Shadow casting translucency is tough to get right. One of the limitations with thin translucent shadows is that the mesh itself will look odd. I have been using the workaround you’d already mentioned before with the two mesh solution. It’s not great for game ready applications but it does the job for archvis and rendering.
