Crucial feature: Popularity-based game categories and sections

Hello,

This missing feature makes me reluctant to continue publishing games on EGS and go for Steam instead.

The issue is that the organic downloads from the store primarily comes from the date of publication of the game.
The older the game is, the more it will be pushed down by the new games.
If you have a free game, you won’t be able to submit it to the regular sales campaigns, and your game will progressively be in the basements of the store, despite all the work you put into your game to make it better.

One feature that would be greatly appreciated is the possibilty to have our games ranked by popularity, and suggested in appropriate sections of the store (e.g. Google Play Store has a “Similar games” section under the product page of each game),
as well as ads inside the Epic Games store to boost our downloads if needed.

Best regards

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out for support! I understand that the lack of categories or the inability to sort by game popularity is something you feel strongly impacts your games’ performance in the store. I completely understand where you’re coming from, and I’d like to help as much as I can.

I reviewed the store and can concur that there is a distinct lack of categories displaying titles that are popular on the store. While there are sections for Trending, Discover Something New, or New Releases, the number of games available in these categories can feel limiting. We greatly appreciate this feedback!

If you have any specific adjustments to the store you’d like to see, please let us know so we can document this. We’re always looking for ways to improve the store for our players and developers, so we take this very seriously.

We look forward to hearing from you!
