Hey all, as I’ve been saying, I finally got the ARK Dev kit and began modding. Recently, I’ve “inherited” Gilgamesh’s Acrocanthosaurus Mod, which is going to be the base of my new Mod, Creatures of ARK, which plans on being a core-safe mod that adds new creatures (hince the name) to ARK, such as Ceratosaurus or Scarrittia.
Gilga is supposed to be sending me the files later today, however, I have a bit of an issue with my own first animal. I’m planning on doing Brontoscorpio, and I managed to shrink the Scorpion model to 1/4th size, like planned. I even managed to get the name to change to “Brontoscorpio”.
However, these were all still in the Scorpion folder, and not it’s own. I’m still having a bit of an issue on figuring out how to “create” my own animal class, based off of Pulmonoscorpius. Here’s what Brontoscorpion (short name Brontoscorp) is supposed to be in a nutshell:
-About as common as Gigantopithecus, it’s found on beaches in the warmer locales of ARK.
-Actually passive to humans, but hunts small things like Compys, Dodos, and Mesopithecus. Happily scavenges from any carcass.
-Likes humans. Similar to Compy or Icthy, walks happily up to the player to introduce itself. This is because Brontoscorp looks at humans as an easy way to get scraps of food. This Is actually how you tame them, as they are a passive tame.
-Damage is quite weak, but torpor from sting is quite powerful: more than that of it’s larger cousin by a very considerable amount. It will only attack humans when hit by them, first.
-Produces Narcotic over time in it’s inventory autonomously.
If I could get any help on this first and future animals, that would be great. For now i’ll be fine-tuning Gilga’s Acro when I get his files.
