Creative block in HUD design

So I’m at a point now where I need to start thinking about a good HUD design, but I’m having a bit of a creative block. I’m trying to find a way to centralize my HUD around a theme. You play as a dog, and have I have 6 major stats, EXP/LV, Health, Stamina, Hunger, Thirst, Tiredness. And 2 Minor stats, hot/cold and wet/dry. In terms of art style, the game leans more into realism, but with a more pastel palette. The only symbols I can think of to use to establish a theme are paw prints and bones. But those feel very cliche to me. I don’t know, if anybody has any opinions or ideas please let me know.

What about using dog bones instead of rectangles.
