So I have spent all evening trying to create grid/tile based movement, similar to something out of Pokemon (or other similar 2D top down RPGs). Controlled using WASD or the arrow keys.
After spending a couple hours trying different things (that didn’t work), I had a look around the internet and there were quite a few different solutions, but the movement worked more like XCOM or Fallout 1 & 2.
The only thing I found that was what I had in mind was this, but other from a brief explanation of how it works in the comments - I have tried it and failed horribly.
And the furthest I got with this is modifying the top down template to use WASD, but that’s how much I got worked so far.
If anyone can point me in the right direction on how to create this type of movement would be much appreciated.
FYI, I am quite new to using UE4 and I am still trying to understand how everything works.
