Creating Multiplayer Shooter

I’m running a high school classroom thats interested in taking their shooter game they created last year to have multiplayer via LAN. Would anyone know of a resource that shows step-by-step instructions on how to do so? Or even possible to have a 30min discussion online about it? Anything would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hey! I would love to do the online discussion with you, but I don’t have the skill set necessary. I don’t know exactly what you have made, but this series might be helpful: https://docs.unrealengine.com/en-us/Videos/PLZlv_N0_O1gYqSlbGQVKsRg6fpxWndZqZ/abmzWUWxy1U That will show you how to set up a menu system for your game as well as hosting with a lobby room and in game chat. It will show you something about replicating variables and functions. This link will give you a more general overview of setting up multiplayer Networking and Multiplayer | Unreal Engine Documentation. Have you done this in blueprints or c++? If you have done it in c++ I would recommend this course on Udemyhttps://www.udemy.com/unrealengine-cpp/learn/v4/overview. I have this course and it is very helpful. In it you make two multiplayer games, and the second is a shooter. If you ever need and assistance with any projects please feel free to contact me, my email is tate.a.hertel@gmail.com. With more details I might be able to be of more assistance. If there is any way I can help in future projects feel free to drop me a line.

Hello, I am a C++ programmer and I have been using unreal’s online system for almost 2 years now. I could help you and your class set some LAN functionality up if you 'd like. If you want my help, feel free to send me an email at konstantin.k@rsegames.com .
