Creating Game Props/Models for Unreal

Hi,

This may be answered but I cant search the correct terms to find my answers, when creating models for games do you need to have every model solid mesh to import to Unreal? An example is if I have a window frame on a building can I just model the side you will see and leave completing the geometry on its back facing to save on polys? Is this okay to import and what is the complications of not making a fully solid mesh and having it hollow?

Thanks.

Yeah, you can have some open sides, the only thing to consider is that it may change lighting if you have some faces deleted, for example if you have a building interior it helps if you have the outside wall surfaces to block light correctly, though those parts don’t need to be detailed, they just need to block light.

Thanks for that, really helpful!!
