. I am a web developer with boat dealers in my portfolio. I have a growing interest in adding a 3D showcase of boats interior and exterior. Have anyone walked similar path recently to share some toughs?
3D meshes with texture maps can vary considerably in quality depending on the scanning method and require significant effort to produce a good model. Glossy finishes, especially black and glass is problematic with any scanning method. If you do not specifically need a 3D model, your most pain free processing will be using panos only. There are several apps that allow walkthoughs to be created from pano imagery. There is also the Matterport camera, which is widely used in Real Estate because of the image quality. However, Matterport is a closed system and getting your content out to host somewhere else is very limited, if not impossible.
