Creating a Windows Shell Replacement

I have a brave idea.

It started with me hating the current windows shell.
I believe explorer.exe isn’t the most visually impressive or efficient way to go at my daily things.

So I thought of creating a borderless windowed application that replaces the explorer.exe and helps me to get things done.
It should help me to create simple files, execute programs, navigate through my system and more, all with nicer graphics.

And of course I know it will take up more resources than the standard explorer.exe, but I have a powerful computer for that.

I’m just wonder if the current Unreal Engine (4.16) is capable of creating something remotely close to what I wish to achieve.

I don’t have any experience with Unreal, but that doesn’t matter, as long as it can be done in one way or another.

Whilst theoretically possible, it’s pretty pointless and totally overkill.

I have thought of that. But just wanted to give myself a challenge.
Plus it could prove to be helpful. You never know.

Explorer.exe is used by Windows start to load Taskbar, StartMenu and Systray, I think its also required for dialog boxes like Open/Save Files.
Be careful if you really want to replace the file explorer.exe from Windows folder, it can render your entire Windows useless.
