Creating a large world with high resolution

Hi,
I’m struggling hard trying to create a fairly large world (somewhere from 32x32 to 64x64 kms) with high resolution (32k - 64k resolution respectively - or 1 meter quads).

There’s a lot of tutorials on how to create “larger” worlds but most of them just rely on the same landscape being bigger therefore loosing resolution.

On UE 5.1 I can’t create a landscape with a resolution greater than 8k. I’ve also read that for perf reasons is better not to go beyond 4k anyway.

I’ve tried a tiled export with Gaea 1.3 using 64 (8x8) tiles of 4033 res and creating multiple (8x8) lanscapes, but the seams do not match. I’m trying to get my hands into Gaea 2.0 Early Access that might have this issue fixed. But I’m not even sure that multiple lanscapes is an ok practice / a good way to go.

Is there any recommended workflow to achieve this?

BTW… I’m using World Partition.

I’ve managed to match the seams with a custom script to fix the exported Gaea heightmaps.

Can’t get HLODs to work but that’s something else.
