Creating a forest that will be rendered from a distance *need opinion*

Hello guys,
I am creating a scene with a forest that is rendered from a distance such as so (this is my inspiration):

But I cannot get anywhere near the quality. I understand that to get to this its quite hard… This is what I have right now:


One thing I cannot figure out is the sharpness of the scene - the leaves are really pixaleted and not really sharp, almost like blurry. I have been trying to force a LOD0 for the mip mapping of the textures, it looks a but better, but it is a mayor performance hit.
For example in Ethan Carter they have it super smooth even when you look into the distance. Any help, tips or tricks? Thank you.

Try turning off TAA
