Creating a chess style piece for a grid based system

what would be the proper way to create a chess style piece for a world map to represent player position and would it be possible to change it depending on the players choice of race, if so how? Thanks in advance :slight_smile:

you can create a new actor blueprint .
if you place a startic mesh component inside you can define anytime what exact type it is.

you can set this syatic mesh on spawnning or at runtime or when you load the map o whenever…

you can also add some simple blueprint that once he is spawned he goes in your game instance or wherever you are storing the player choosed race and set the static mesh using some "if " is human set… if is elf… set this
