Create Model by Component

Is it possible to separate a large component into smaller components and make an individual model out of each of them?

I scanned a large plaza with terrestial laser scans and photos taken by drone, and produced a decent enough model. However, when it comes to the texturing step, the resulting texture always looks bad

I’m thinking it might be better to split my large model into quadrants and process them individually.

Hi Key_Of_Void, it is possible: RealityCapture Automated CLI pipeline for Large Datasets | Community tutorial
Also, have you used the laser scans for texturing, too?

Yes, as I lost quite a bit of information when I tried texturing with just the drone photos, tho I can try again.

The script looks very interesting! I think it’ll work nicely, thanks!

Hi again.

I took some time, but I’m trying to use the script. However, I get an error here after launching startBoxReconstruction.bat

It doesn’t ask me to determine from which box to begin the process, and when I hit enter after setting the variables the console just closes. There’s nothing written to errors.txt, either.

Also, yes, I used the laser scans for texturing cuz I lose too much detail otherwise.

Hi, I am not a creator of that CLI. Are all files as in the CLI description? Are CLI next to the project file in the same folder? The error is showed after 2nd question? Have you renamed the model to master? Do you have more models or components in your project?

Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes and Yes, I do have some other models and components in the project. Any chance the creators are also in the forum, so I could ask them myself?

Hi,
have you used divideReconstructionRegion_table.bat before? Can you try delete all unnecessary components and models on a copy of the project and then try again?
Have you changed something in the scripts? Have you tried also testing project?
