Crash When Adding Material to Static Mesh

Hello,

I am having an issue when adding a material to a static mesh wall such as a wood overlay or a stone overlay. I am running on or above all the correct system requirements for this but I am having an issue with freezing sometimes. However the crazy thing is when running the editor and having my CPU performance screen open it will peek to 100% right when adding the material. I believe it shouldn’t be taking up 100% of my CPU Usage. My current laptop is a Asus ROG GTX 1070. Any advice will be of help, also any suggestions on different laptops would be of help.
