Build branching conversations. Connect them to gameplay. Stay in control.
Advanced Dialogue Manager is a dialogue authoring and runtime plugin for Unreal Engine. Create conversations in a dedicated visual graph editor, define memorable speakers, and connect narrative decisions to your game through Blueprint and C++ APIs.
From short NPC interactions to branching conversations with conditions, events and persistent progress, the plugin provides a flexible workflow for both authoring and integration.
Visual Dialogue Authoring
Build conversations using Dialogue Lines, Sequences and player Choices. Control execution with Conditions, Selectors, Delays and Wait for Signal nodes.
Keep larger graphs manageable with named Entry Points, Jumps, Portals, reusable Sub-Dialogues and colored comments.
Note: This plugin includes ready-to-use UI widgets that allow you to quickly customize the appearance and behavior of your dialogue interface, including features such as the typewriter effect.
Gameplay Integration
Connect dialogue to your existing game systems:
Read and modify typed dialogue variables.
Control branches and choice availability with conditions.
Trigger gameplay events through Gameplay Tags.
Wait for external actions using signals and optional timeouts.
Track dialogue history, visited nodes and selected choices.
Start, pause, resume and stop conversations through Blueprint or C++.
Speakers and Presentation
Define speakers with display names, portraits, colors and expression variants. Link Speaker Assets to characters in your level for actor-aware integration.
Build your interface using the provided widget base classes, with support for branching choices, rich text, typewriter reveal, voice audio and configurable continuation behavior.
Dialogue Cameras
Use Camera Preset assets to configure dialogue shots, with dialogue-wide defaults and per-line overrides. Use the built-in camera system or connect your own camera provider.
Save and Restore
Capture dialogue progress and integrate it into your game's SaveGame workflow. Restore narrative state independently, or optionally resume an active conversation once the level and speaker actors are ready.
Test and Debug
Dialogue Lab lets you simulate dialogue flow without entering PIE, save reusable scenarios, explore paths with repeatable random seeds, and export JSON or CSV reports.
The Runtime Debugger helps you inspect live dialogue state, active nodes, speakers and linked actors, with viewport diagnostics and Output Log integration.
Localization and Text Exchange
Use Unreal Engine's FText localization workflow and exchange dialogue source text through CSV and JSON, with import previews to review changes before applying them.
