Crash on Import FBX

I’m reading various related posts to this problem of UE4 crashing and freezing at 75% on fbx import, seems there’s a number of culprits, e.g. msi audio, checking Combine Meshes, export setting in Maya and Blender, issues related to keyframes and more. But, none of these apply in my case, though I also experience the freezing at 75% and crashing. Just days ago my workflow exporting numerous multi-part meshes as FBX 2014 from Reality Capture, adding Smoothing Group in 3DS and importing to UE4 worked just fine. Today I can’t import even a single of these. I took 3DS out of the mix, coming straight from RC, no difference. I tried importing an fbx that was already in UE4 from before and it also won’t import now. Any these meshes open in Maya and 3DS, so seems RC isn’t the issue. Any thoughts?
