Crash in "Control Rig Runtime Asset "

In “Graph explorer” (Was called my blueprint)
when you create variable (when you look to + button in says now “create a new graph”) float, integer, vector and etc.
you trying to add any value to slider or value range to your variable - you crush

Hi there! Welcome to the Unreal Engine community!

I believe I’ve seen this issue occur in the latest few UE versions when editing variable’s UI metadata (such as Sliders and Value Ranges) for Control Rig/Rig Graph variables. It appears to be related to the property detail panel attempting to refresh/evaluate the range during a time when the graph state hasn’t been completely compiled, which results in a crash

Before diving too deep into troubleshooting, Could you share a bit more context so I can get a clearer picture?

Unreal Engine Version
Which exact engine version are you running (e.g, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5)?

Crash Log
If the Crash Reporter pops up, could you paste the top few lines of the callstack or share the Saved/Logs file from your project?
That would really help narrow down if it’s a known engine bug or a corrupt asset state..

In the meantime, here are a couple of things we could try to work around it:

  1. Compile & Save First
Try compiling and saving the Control Rig asset before touching the Slider or Value Range limits in the variable details panel.

  2. Clear Default Values
Try setting the variable’s Default Value within standard bounds first and then enable/edit the slider ranges

  3. Delete & Re-create
Sometimes the metadata on newly created variables gets stuck in an unstable state inside the Graph Explorer. Deleting the variable and recreating a fresh one might bypass the crash
