Crash: FixupRootNodeParentReferences Error


I am experiencing a crash while trying to load a blueprint or map containing a reference to a parented Blueprint.

The editor loads, I tried to fix redirectories with no luck.

I was wondering if there is any way to fix it.

There are 10 or so errors like this all from the parenting being broken.

  • Could you provide your Machine ID from your Crash Reporter window, and ensure that you hit Send when it appears?
  • Can you reproduce this issue in a clean project?
  • Do you have any repro steps that I can use to reproduce this issue on our end?

I believe that it was caused from my computer freezing. On restart, I think if I restored auto saved files it might have saved me from this situation, but I thought everything major was saved. The files in a clean project were the same, all broken. Removing the problem problem files couldn’t be done as they are heavily referenced through the game. I ended up reverting the files in Perforce. I think the lesson here is to have a version control.
