Crash and autoreboot

Building a mesh with 220 pics with normal detail, and after around 1m it crashes the system which reboots.

which license type, build and OS version are you using? Win10 21H2 latest update 19044.1766

is it all updated to the latest version? YES

have you tried to run the processing anew? YES, it happens with other datasets as well, after a few seconds

does it happen also with other datasets of yours? YES

what settings did you use for the mesh reconstruction? Normal detail

did you use any control points? if so, how many? No

did you run any other programs during the processing? No

have you changed the input data in any way after loading them into the RC project? No

had any error message occur before the blue screen one? No error, just reboot

did you catch the error name/description on the blue screen? No, there isn’t any - however windows logs show a Kernel-Power critical event, linked to RC process, which caused the reboot

how long did it take the program to crash (since the last button pressed)? After 60 sec or so

This is the error when I try to reopen the sw after the reboot.

Hi Leo,

it seems that during crash the project node wasn’t saved. It will be better to start from the scratch.

Did this happen for you before? What are your computer parameters? Do you have set right GPU in the application? Is there something written in the console view before crash? Do you have enough free space on your discs?

Can you try clean install:

These steps are not the same as when you will reinstall the application just by installation file.
Please try to “make it like a clean install” (this will reset your settings to default in the process):
In order to do that:

  • Shift + Double LeftMouseClick on RealityCapture icon
  • From drop-down select make it like a clean install and press ok
  • Then try again

Also clear a cache as is described here and update your GPU.

Hi there,

I tried what you wrote but still the issue persist.

Did this happen for you before? yes

What are your computer parameters? I attached picture of the global settings

Do you have set right GPU in the application? yes

Is there something written in the console view before crash? no

Do you have enough free space on your discs? yes

Do you have set teh reconstruction region before model creation?

yes

You mentioned that you attached picture with your computer parameters but I am not able to see it. Can you send it again?

I tried to attach a .png file but it didn’t succeed.

Here I try again:

I has to be smaller as 2MB I think. Can you paste here just print screen?

What kind of RAM and GPU do you have? Are they also actuall?

Yes, they all are quite actuall:

Hi this could be connected with GPU. Which version of driver do you have?

Driver GeForce Game Ready 516.01

Can you try Studio?

I have now installed the NVIDIA Studio driver 516.59, but the issue persists

Which CPU are you using? Can you send me a video of this behavior? regarding to RealityCapture version, do you have 16813 or 17385 (you can find out when you click on the question mark in upper right corner of the application)?

Is this also happening when you try Preview or High mode?

RealityCapture version 17385

Is this also happening when you try Preview or High mode? I tried only Preview mode and it succeeded, not tried yet High mode, but normal always failed.

Can you send me a video of this behavior? Sure, how can I send you a 6MB .mp4 video?

I tried the High Detail mode as well, and it crashes like the Normal Detail one. Only Preview mode works for me
