Crane Hoisting with a cable

Hi, sorry if this is the wrong section.
I’m working on a project where I have a simple crane. I attached a cable component and a hook to the end of the cable to be able to lift objects by attaching them to the hook and moving them around. The setup is like this:


I have simulate physics enabled on the hook for better simulation and more realistic movement of attached objects. Now, I’m trying to make a hoisting effect so I can bring the hook up and down while controlling the crane. I’ve tried to change the cable scale on the go from the blueprint but the problem is that whenever the scale changes, the cable disappears from the game. My blueprint setup is very simple like below:

Any ideas how to fix this? Or how to make a hoisting effect with my setup? (It’s important to have the physics simulation on the hook)

This seems to be a known bug with the cable component. There may be a possible fix here:

Well, I’m using a blueprint template so I don’t think that’s my problem.
I’m not having problems with the component spawning but with modifying it
